2:00 to 4:00 PM

We invite you to join us for “YOGA NIDRA: The Art of Transformational Sleep, Inspired by the Tibetan 5 Elements Practice” on Sunday 11/11.  Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) helps awaken your consciousness of sleep and dream through the tantric practice of expanded awareness for lucid living. While Samuel skillfully plays the hand-crafted singing bowls evoking the healing tones from bowls that therapeutically re-balances the body internal vibrational frequencies that get displaced from our modern stressful living. The rising and falling tones from the singing bowls helps still the mind, and release subtle energetic blockages from the whole body.

Sound healing is an ancient art used for thousands of years by Eastern practitioners for calming and tuning the mind while re-balancing the body by releasing tension and subtle energetic blockages by re-aligning cell vibrations to specific frequency for optimal health. Sound Baths are deeply calming and stilling for the mind providing a gateway for meditation and as a wonderful accompaniment to Yoga Nidra - yoga of sleep.

For this inner and outer journey you are invited to lie on the floor during this meditation with restful awareness. Please bring a yoga mat, blanket, or prop for your comfort.  Space is limited to 16 participants, please call or email the Unity Barn to reserve your spot. The event starts at 2:00 PM, doors open at 1:30 and will last approximately 2 hours. Event cost is $40 per person.

We look forward to experiencing this transformational 11/11 meditation with you!

New scientific research is showing the tangible and positive benefits of sound meditation.

An enlightening 2016 study conducted at UCSD with singing bowls has shown powerful effects:

  • “As compared with pre-meditation, following the sound meditation participants reported significantly less tension, anger, fatigue, and depressed mood”

  • What’s more, this new research suggests “Feeling of spiritual well-being significantly increased” … and “participants generally express feelings of deep relaxation and inner peace following the sound meditation”

  • Sound Meditation...“may be a feasible low-cost low technology intervention for reducing feelings of tension, anxiety, and depression, and increasing spiritual well-being”

  • Reasons?

    • The effects on mood and physiological changes may stem from:

      • The resonance and beats produced in sound meditation can put the body into “brainwave states of deep relaxation”

      • The “action of sound waves on the purported biofield or energy field of the body”
