The Spiritual Sculptor: Chipping Away All that’s Not True
Sunday September 9th
Jonathan Labman, MA, LPC, E-RYT
I’m happy to present a monthly series of one-day Meditation Retreats at the Unity Barn in Doylestown: on the second Sunday of each month. The next one is Sunday September 9th.
The Spiritual Sculptor: Chipping Away All that’s not True
Time: 10AM to 5PM (Lunch together from 1pm to 2pm)
Fee: $100. Note: some fee-reduction work-scholarships are available if more than 10 people register.
(Bring your lunch, snacks and beverages. Bring a Meditation Cushion, backjack or Zafu, if you like to sit on the floor. Some chairs are available for those who don’t like sitting on the floor. Wear comfortable clothing.)
The retreat dates are:
- September 9th
- October 14th
- November 11th
- December 9th
Becoming a Buddha is a process of dissolving away all that’s not true. During this retreat, we’ll talk about how meditation, mindfulness, and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (what I call “Thought Busting”) can help you to do that.
You’ll also experience the benefit of a group meditation practice and have a retreat experience that’s a manageable length for a beginner, and affordable for advanced practitioners. We’ll alternate seated meditations, walking meditations and an eating meditation, with brief presentations on meditation, mindfulness and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy.
There will also be time for your questions and answers based on your own experiences during the retreat and in your personal lives. Also, this is an opportunity to meet other people with common interests. People long for real in-person relationships, not virtual ones: try creating some with other local participants in real time.
Register by contacting me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Feel free to pass this message on to friends who might be interested. A $50 registration fee is required. The other $50 can be paid at the time of the retreat. A minimum of four people will be needed to confirm your registration. Your money will be refunded if I have to cancel due to low attendance.
Suggested reading is my short book: Simply Awake: Spiritual Enlightenment, the Simplest Thing. Find it in Kindle or paperback formats on Amazon.com. This will give you a summary of my perspective.
I hope to see you there,
